Privacy Policy
Effective date: 26 June 2026
OpenView IPTV (the “app”) is a media player for IPTV sources that you provide. The app does not include, host, or supply any channels, streams, or content. This policy explains what the app does and does not do with data.
The short version
- We do not collect your personal data.
- We do not track what you watch.
- We do not show ads or use advertising/analytics SDKs.
- We do not use Google Play Services.
- Your playlists and credentials stay on your device.
Data the app handles
- Your IPTV sources (M3U URL / Xtream login, etc.): stored only on your device and used only to connect to your provider. They are never sent to us.
- Anonymous device identifier: a non-reversible hash derived from the Android device ID, used solely to bind a premium licence to your device. It is not linked to your name or any account.
- Premium activation & payment: when you start a trial, buy, or activate premium, our activation server (a Cloudflare Worker) processes a one-time code and the anonymous device identifier. Payments are handled by Lemon Squeezy (our Merchant of Record) — we never receive or store your card details.
- Movie/series info (TMDB): to show posters, synopses and cast, the app sends the title of the movie/series you open to The Movie Database (TMDB). This can be turned off in Settings. See the TMDB privacy policy.
- Updates (sideload version only): the GitHub-distributed build checks GitHub for the latest version. Store versions update through the store.
- Crash reports (anonymous, on by default): the app sends anonymous diagnostics after a crash — app version, device model, Android version and a stack trace with URLs and credentials removed — to help us fix bugs. No personal data is included. This is enabled by default; you can turn it off at any time in Settings.
What we never do
We do not sell or share data, profile users, track viewing habits, or include third-party advertising or analytics. The app is designed to work without any account.
Permissions
The app requests only what it needs to function — internet access (to reach your provider and services above), notifications (reminders), and, on the sideload build, permission to install its own update. It does not access your contacts, location, photos, or microphone.
Children
The app is not directed at children. Parental controls (PIN) are available in Settings.
Changes
We may update this policy; material changes will be reflected by a new effective date on this page.
